Weather is a crutial point for the travellers. Coming to Milan you should know that overall it is a sunny city. Statistic sais there are around 90 rainy days in Milan and almost 235 sunny days a year. Anyway grey and rainy days can catch you on your Milan city trip.

Design Museum
The first thing that comes in your mind when you think about Milan is design. There are many museums of design in the city.
The best one in our personal opinion is ADI Design museum in via Ceresio 7 (metro station M5 Monumentale)
It is one of the largests design museums in Europe. ADI dimostrates the story and the developement of the most iconic peices of italian design in interiors and industry.
Painting Gallery
The biggest and the most famous painting gallery in Milan is Brera. It is a great place for art lovers. But our personal choice is Pinacoteca Ambrosiana or GAM for the classic art lovers.
Ambrosiana will show you the classic art, big part of it was given to the gallery from private collections, some objects of interiors and the oldest milanese library with the manuskripts of Leonardo Da Vinci. In the gallery you can admire the paintings of Caravaggio, Raffaello, Da Vinci, Tiziano and others.
Meanwhile The GAM (Galleria di Arte Moderna) is dedicated to the art of 18 and 19 century. You will find the paintings of Vincent Van Gogh, Paul Cézanne, Pablo Picasso, Amedeo Modigliani, Giovanni Segantini there.
By the way, just two minutes walk from GAM there is a very atmospheric bar for a breakfast or lunch LùBar.
So, in case it is still raining in Milan after your visit to GAM, you know where to go for lunch.
Shopping
In the city of Milan you can find several covered shopping malls and a nearby outlet.
The central and the most famous shopping mall is La Rinascente on the Duomo square. You can find there clothes, interior department and rooftop bars and restaurants with the breathtaking view on the Duomo.
In the Tre Torri area you will find a modern covered mall with futuristic design CityLife shopping district. You can reach the CityLife area by metro (M5 Tre Torri). There is a foodcourt, shopping center and cinema inside.
The nearest outlet to Milan is Scalò Milano. It is 20 mins drive for the city and the free shuttle departs 3 times a day from piazza Republica.
Museums for kids
There are many indoor activities for kids in Milan.
Big choice of museums for any age and interest.
Nature and animals lovers will appreciate the Museo di Storia Naturale. It is the oldest museum of the city with a rich scientific collections of finds and specimens from all over the world: animals, fossils, plants and minerals.
Science lovers can have lots of fun in the Museum of Science and technology of Leonardo Da Vinci. You will find here a section dedicated to the machines of Leonardo Da Vinci, trains, submarine and lot’s of science and tecnology exposted in the most entertained way for all ages.
Old Tram ride
Yellow trams are sort of a symbol of Milan. This is the model of 1927 that is still in use and run several linea as a public transport.
So get a ticket in any ticket machine, newspaper chiosk or sigarette kiosk, get in the tram number 1 and make a ride on the oldest tram line in the city that goes through the old city center.
The wooden banches and cristall lamps are original interiors.
